Keith Vaz to take more Child Abuse Inquiry evidence but still hasn't made a statement on his past

The Chair of the Home Affairs Select Committee still hasn't made a statement about his past associations and actions with respect to historical child abuse.

Mr. Vaz is also subject of a formal complaint to the Parliamentary Commissioner for Standards regarding undeclared personal interests:

Neither the public nor survivors of child abuse know whether Mr. Vaz is part of the solution or whether he was, in the past, part of the problem.

I believe that both the public and survivors of child abuse should know about what Mr. Vaz knew about child abuse and what he did.

Mr.Vaz has been silent since July when I first contacted him via Twitter regarding my concerns.

There are four questions that I believe Mr. Vaz must address:

1. What did Mr. Vaz know about child abuse and what did he do while employed in the 1980s as a solicitor with Richmond Council?
2. What did Mr. Vaz know about child abuse and what did he do while employed in the 1980s as a senior solicitor with Islington Council?
3. Why did Mr. Vaz seek to change the Law in 1991 with the predictable effect of concealing child abuse allegations?
4. Did Mr. Vaz act in any way in or around 1991 which might have the effect of inhibiting Police investigation into allegations against Mr. Vaz's then colleague, Greville Janner?

In my view Keith Vaz has to apply the principle of "total transparency" to his own past and must make a comprehensive public statement on these four points.

 The public and survivors need to know if Keith Vaz is part of the solution or if he was part of the problem with respect to historical child abuse.
